How Blood Circulation Occurs in HUMANS.

In order for parts of the body to get oxygen and other useful substances such as glucose and amino acids,the blood will have to act as a transportation medium for the target organs or parts.

So now, HOW DOES THIS BLOOD GET CIRCULATED?

Here is the answer👇:

❤°¬.During breathing,atmospheric oxygen is taken into the capillaries of the lungs. 

°¬.The atmospheric oxygen then combines with the pigment that gives erythrocyte its red colour,i.e, HAEMOGLOBIN.

°¬.The substance formed after the combination is called oxyhaemoglobin.

°¬.Now,digested food nutrients are absorbed from the small intestines to combine with the oxyhaemoglobin. At this point,the blood is said to be OXYGENATED.

°¬Oxygenated blood flowing through the lungs are also pushed into the left atrium through the pulmonary vein.

°¬.The left atrium the pump the oxygenated blood into the left ventricle through the Bicuspid valve.


°¬.The left ventricle then contract to pump the oxygenated blood into into the Aorta (the biggest artery). The 2 semi-lunar valves present between at that point prevents the backflow of oxygenated blood from the aorta into the left ventricle.

°¬.Oxygenated blood in the aorta is then pumped to all parts of the body.

In tissues of the body,there is the exchange of materials by a process called Simple diffusion.

With the simple diffusion,oxygen and nutrients in the blood are taken into the tissues and cells while the carbon dioxide with some waste products such as urea are also given to the blood.

At this point,the blood is said to be DEOXYGENATED.

°¬.The deoxygenated blood the passes into the anterior vena cava, into the right atrium,then into the right ventricle and finally to the lungs through the posterior vena cava,for oxygenation and then the cycle is repeated.

 

°NOTE: Circulation in humans is known as Double Circulation. since blood from the heart is sent to the lungs and from the lungs back to the heart for redistribution to all parts of the body.
