BRIEF HISTORY OF 'THE BIG SIX' OF GHANA

Ghana's independence gained on 6th March,1957 is as a result of consistent effort of some brave and great men. This man are known as 'THE BIG SIX'.

Today,I want us to get a brief history of each of the big six:

1. E.O OBETSEBI LAMPTEY.

He was born on 26th April,1902 at Ode,Accra. He had his tertiary education in London University and he was married to Magaretha. He died at age 60 on 29th January 1963 in Accra.


2.WILLIAM OFORI ATTA.

He was born on 10th October,1910 at Kibi,Eastern region. He had his tertiary education at Queens Collwge,University of Cambridge and his maital status =unknown. He died at age 77 on 18

14th July 1988 in Accra.


3.DR. KWAME NKRUMAH.

He was born on 21st September,1909 in Nkroful,Western region. He had his tertiary education in Lincoln University,Pennsylvania University,and he was married to Fathia Rizk. He died at age 62 on 27th April 1972 in Bucharest.


4.JOSEPH BOAKYE DANQUAH.

He was born on 18th December,1895 at Bepong. He had his tertiary education in University of London and he was married to Mabel Danquah and Elizabeth Vardon. He died at age 69 on 4th February,1965 in Nsawam.


5.EDWARD AKUFO-ADDO.

He was born on 26th June,1906 at Dodowa,Accra. He had his tertiary education in St.Peter's College-Oxford,and he was married to Adeline Y.Akufo-Addo. He died at age 73 on 17th July 1979 in Accra.


6.EBENEZER AKO-ADJEI.

He was born on 17th June,1916 at Adjeikrom. He had his tertiary education in Lincoln University,Columbia University & others,he was married to Theodosia Ako-Adjei. He died at age 85 on 14th January 2002.
