Agt. IGP moves from office to streets to supervise night patrol duties in Accra

 


“S3 odehys3 anko a, akoa dwane” is a local Akan proverb which literally means that, “if a Royal runs from the battlefield, the servant runs away”. So in accordance to that, Not long ago is when the Acting Inspector-General of Police (Agt. IGP), Dr. Akufo Dampare launched a crime-combating program in the various regions and parts of the country. The program is named DUTY (night) PATROL.

In view of that, the Acting Inspector-General of Police (Agt. IGP), Dr. Akufo Dampare himself along with Poljce Management Board (POMB) paid unannounced visits to some check-points in Accra. The visited areas include: Adentan,East legion,El Wak sports stadium,Marina, just to mention only a few.


During the night visits from Thursday 10pm to Friday 4:05am, the live coverage was captured by the Photography Department, and was shared with the citizens (Civilians) Ghana through the GHANA POLICE SERVICE Facebook page during a Facebook live video.

As it was a Facebook live video, netizens (Ghanaians or Civilians) also shared their views on such act, of which some claimed they were only doing that for hype purposes, while others have profusely showered blessings and praises on the Acting Inspector-General of Police (Agt. IGP), Dr. Akufo Dampare and the Police Management Board (POMB).
