POLICE ON MANHUNT FOR ARMED MEN WHO KILLED 2 MEN AT WASSA JUABO

1. The Police Administration has dispatched a technical team of Anti-Armed Robbery Squad to Wassa Juabo in the Western Region to track down suspected armed robbers who shot and killed two men namely; Emmanuel Afful, 45 and Kofi Asante, 38, at Wassa Juabo on Wednesday, August 18 2021.

2. Emmanuel Afful, a gold buyer from Wassa Juabo in the Sefwi Bekwai District was shot in his vehicle while on his way from work to his house. In the course of bolting with unspecified amount of money and gold, the armed robbers saw Kofi Asante, now deceased, who is a neighbour to Emmanuel Afful, seated in front of his house making a phone call. The robbers suspected he was making a phone call to raise alarm and shot him.. Both victims screamed for help which attracted some residents to the two crime scenes.

3. The two victims were rushed to the Green Sheild Hospital at Sefwi Bekwai for medical treatment but both victims were pronounced dead on arrival. The bodies were photographed and later deposited at Sefwi Anhwiaso Community Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

4. Crime Scene experts visited the two crime scenes and found two spent shells at both scenes and kept same for ballistic analysis and further investigations.

5. The Police are assuring the public that strenuous effort is being made to track down and arrest the perpetrators of this heinous crime to face the law. The Police are also requesting the public to volunteer leading information that would assist in arresting the suspected armed robbers, for a reward.
