TWO SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS KILLED AND FOUR OTHERS ARRESTED ON THE KINTAMPO - BUIPE-TAMALE HIGHWAY

 


The Ghana Police Service under the office of the new Inspector General of Police (IGP),Dr Akuffo Dampare has embarked on several secret operations in order to combat crime, offer justice to citizens and create a secured environment for all citizens and visitors as well.

In view of that, THE NEWS JUG sighted a PRESS RELEASE frrom the PUBLIC AFFAIRS DIRECTORATE POLICE HEADQUARTERS POST OFFICE BOX 116 ACCRA, dated 29th AUGUST, 2021, says;

TWO SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS KILLED AND FOUR OTHERS ARRESTED ON THE KINTAMPO - BUIPE-TAMALE HIGHWAY

1. Two suspected armed robbers have been killed and four others busted for their alleged involvement in some robberies and murder cases along the Kintampo - Buipe Tamale Highway.

2.The two, Hamidu Umaru and Haadu were killed after some gun exchanges with the Police Intelligence and Operational teams. The detained suspects are Saaju Bukari, Bertor Saabi, Ali Amadu and Isaad Seidu. The Intelligence-led operations by the Special Anti-Robbery Task Force led to the retrieval of 2 locally manufactured pistols and live cartridges, machetes, 3 bayonets, pepper spray cans and stun guns. Some suspected stolen items were retrieved and they include mobile phones and motorbikes.

4. Preliminary investigations suggest that these suspects were behind many robberies including the killing of an International Journalist some days ago.

5. The Police Administration has instituted some rigorous measures to effectively combat serious crimes that have plagued the area over the past few years. Similar intelligence-led operations have been employed in other regions.

6. The general public is advised to collaborate with the Police by providing credible information on suspected criminals for swift and immediate action.

7.Policing is a shared responsibility. Therefore, we entreat everyone to get involved for a safer and peaceful society.
