Waste is any substance that is discarded after its primary use.

Waste could be any one of the three basic states of matter. For example, smoke from industries and cars is a Gaseous waste (air pollutant), Sewage, i.e liquified feces is a Liquid waste and Garbages like peels of foodstuffs are Solid wastes.

The types of waste are basically categorized into organic waste and inorganic waste.

* Organic waste are wastes that are product of living things like plants and animals.

Examples of organic waste include, but not limited to: cassava peels, left over food, carcass of a goat (dead body of a goat), etc.

If these waste are not properly managed, they tend to offer humanity negative effects, for such a reason they ought to be well managed.

The means by which is collected, treated , managed and disposed is termed as WASTE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES. There are two types of waste management practices, and they are :

Examples of bad waste management practices are, bad not limited to: OPEN DUMPING,DISPOSING WASTE IN WATER BODIES, DISPOSING WASTE IN BUSHES, DISPOSING WASTE IN WATERWAYS AND GUTTERS, etc.

SOME NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF POOR WASTE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES

4. Famine as a result of flooding.

Therefore, in order to prevent any catastrophic outbreak of diseases which could cause loss of hundreds of lives, WE are all encouraged to to practice good waste management practices.
