Hello Football lovers!!!! I know majority of you have ever head of the name "Marc Vivien Foe"
He is one those huge huge names on African continent as far as football is concerned.
He played for various football clubs including Canon Yaoude(CAM),Lens(FRA),Westham Utd(ENG),Olympique Lyon(FRA) and Man.City(ENG.)
He represented Cameroon from 1993 to 2003.
He died while playing for the indomitable lions in the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup during a semifinal clash held at the Stede De Grrland in Lyon,France. (Cameroon v Colombia) at age 28.
He collapsed in the 72nd minute of the match with no other player(s) near him.
Immediate health workers attempted to resuscitate him on the pitch,he was stretchered off the field and soon declared dead.
The then team manager Wilfred Shafer wanted to substitute him minutes earlier, observing the player seemed fatigued but he(Foe) signalled that he wanted to continue playing.
Former Manchester city, West ham United and Cameroonian star Marc Vivien Foe is one of many players who have lost the lives on the pitch. Vivien, who was painstakingly delivering his duties in the confederations cup for his team cameroon in France against Columbia was pronounced dead from cardiac arrest after he fell down in the center of the pitch on June 26, 2003. 
At 28, Vivien made 62 appearances for the country and also, played a pivotal role for Cameroon's streak to the quarter finals of the confederation cup beating Turkey and Brazil in the process. Like many others,though painful, this incident is one to be remembered to keep the legacy of the domineering midfielder.
20 years since Marc-Vivien Foé tragically passed away.
